Day of Fasting & Prayer
Friday, June 5

As believers in the body of Christ we all are one. Ephesians 1:5 tells us that we have been adopted into His family through Christ so in Christ there is no division.
For many of us, the last two weeks have been difficult, for some more than others, to sit and watch the real life representation of division that exists in this country. We as a church body should have one desire, and that desire is to be united in the body of Christ. This means when one member of our body experiences, hurt, pain, distress and turmoil we should all join together and empathize with their experience. These current events should motivate us to be leaders in our communities in showing what Christian love is really all about. Christian love means unity and justice for all.
We are asking that our church family join in a day of fasting and prayer Friday, June 5, to search our hearts asking God to deliver us from any division that may hinder unity, and provide us with unconditional love, support and sensitivity for all our members. It is our mission as Christians to tell others about the gospel of Jesus Christ, and we can be more effective in doing this if we are a united body.
We will pray together four times on Friday at 6:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. Every four hours we will come together to pray for 30 minutes seeking God together. Micah 6:8 says to do justly and to love mercy and walk humbly with our God. Please join us. Call the Prayer Line at (319) 527-9020 access code is 477416#.
