Middle School Building

The new A. W. Spalding Middle School facility (along with renovation of the elementary school) will accommodate an expanded pre-K-to-8th-grade enrollment and meet the pressing need for additional space.

The middle school will accommodate up to 300 students and the elementary building 375. Course offerings will be expanded and additional space is being designed for more classrooms, storage, a staff workroom, conference rooms, reception, music practice suites, nurse's station, accounting office, and an auditorium.

Fundraising Status

Progress Update

As of this afternoon (1/28) our masonry crew will be finished with the north gable, the last of the areas that have been critically holding up steel work allowing the next big step in the process. That of course is getting the roofing on and drying the building.

The masons are also finishing up a lot of interior work such as filling in around the stairs and partition walls between inside rooms. We also have a crew laying the block on the main entrance tower. In just a few days we'll essentially be finished with the block work. Beginning Monday, brick will be delivered and some of the masonry crews will switch and begin the brick and precast veneer work.

We have increased the size of our heating and air conditioning crews and they are making excellent progress with the duct work, circulating lines and the equipment installation. Our electricians and plumbing crews are also very much on schedule. The first floor walls have all been prep'd ready for paint and finish which will be applied soon after we get the building dry. Once it's dry the pace will pick up even more.

The roofing and roof insulation has all arrived. The gym roof is already insulated and water sealed. We have the crew installing the gym sky lights and shortly the actual roof panels will start being installed. It is good to get the first part of the building dry! With all the rain we've had, we have struggled to keep the job moving. Please keep the weather in your prayers. It is our biggest challenge right now and in fact has been for a while. Please keep our fund raising and pledge payment in your prayers. As we continue to push on this job we need the funds to continue to come in so that we can complete this school without debt.
