7/28) This week completes the 65th week on the middle school project. There are now just three weeks left before school starts for the fall! As you can see in the latest panorama photo, the exterior of the school is almost complete. The landscaping and irrigation system is almost done. Next week the paving, curbs and parking lot painting will be completed. Our major inspections are almost done and we are well on our way to passing and receiving our occupancy permit in time for school to start.
If you have driven by the school, you surely will have noticed the sign is functioning with messages and announcements of school system schedules.
Inside, the floor coverings are all in. Details and finishes are being completed. Next week we will be in the "punchlist phase".
I appreciate all the volunteers who came out Sunday morning to clean the upstairs. If you have an hour to lend this Sunday morning from 9-noon come give us a hand to clean the lower level. On Monday the first load of furniture, desks and chairs etc will begin to arrive. I can't wait for August 19th to see our children enjoying their new school.
All of this work continues to eat up our cash flow. I have been grateful to those who have paid off their pledges, those who have continued to pay on their promises and those who have continued to give despite having reached their pledge amounts. It has been amazing to be able to get this far into the project without having to borrow funds and incur debt. However, This next week we will have to begin to borrow in order to continue the work. Now is the time for us all to step up and finish our pledges and give what we can to complete this facility. It will mean so much for the future of our children. Please continue to keep the project in your prayers.
