Mike joined the Collegedale Church staff in June of 2000. A 1988 graduate of Southern College, Mike earned his M.Div. degree from Andrews University and served as an associate pastor of the Florida Hospital Church in Orlando, Florida, for 4 years. He was ordained to the gospel ministry in 1994. In 1996, Mike began working as a Systems Analyst for Florida Hospital. After serving in this role for 5 1/2 years, he accepted a call to return to pastoral ministry as the Young Adult Pastor of the Collegedale Church in 2000.
Mike quotes Romans 15:20 as his own feelings. "It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else's foundation." In 2007 the Collegedale Church Board voted to support Mike in starting a Church plant in downtown Chattanooga. Several small groups began meeting and preparing, and after the 2009 new year they chose the name The Well and began meeting as one at Contra Passo Dance Studio, 1800 Rossville Ave (not Blvd), Chattanooga 37408 next to the Loose Cannon Art Gallery.
In his free time, Mike enjoys sailing, golf, flying (when he can afford it) and just being with friends.
