Sanctuary Stained Glass Window

J.I.M. Marlowe Photography

The stained glass windows located on either side and in the balcony of the Sanctuary were designed by C.W. Conley. He also designed the windows in the Gospel Chapel. All of the windows were fabricated at Rio Glass Works near Healdsburg, California. The stained glass company provides employment for high school students earning their way through school.

The windows in the Gospel Chapel and the windows in the sanctuary contain a great deal of symbolism. The windows behind the balcony portray the second coming of Christ.

Beams of light surround the sanctuary as they radiate through the windows along both walls. Each window panel contains the title of one of the 27 fundamental beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Morse Code along the vertical side of the window. There are more than 27 windows and some of the windows have scripture texts encoded in them. For example, the message in the stained glass windows behind the balcony is, looking from left to right: Behold He Cometh With Clouds, and Every Eye Shall See Him. Revelation 1:7.
